PHOTO DIARIES: Each time I dive into a new journey, it's not just exploring the territory and culture I always get so accustomed to. Continue Photography, as my teacher said to me once, is not merely a question of taking pictures; you use photography to communicate experiences, to tell stories and point up what exists before your eyes."My blog contains some of these deeply personal thoughts on photography while traveling. The section that follows, however, is dedicated to how--as a result--photography has altered my entire perspective."When I visit various countries and different cultures, I find that my camera is an extension of myself. Just like a dancer on stage has so many moves she can't perform, until there's no alternative but to hold it and push it forward"I freeze time, capturing the vitality of colors in their own right. My lens picks up textures and nuances imperceptible to a casual observer; it holds hostage all these feelings that one would forget after a smile."In the end, every photograph I record Blue there comes a visual record or snapshot in time which encapsulates the feeling of my life experience. From Tokyo's teeming streets to the tranquil scenes of the Scottish Highlands, my lens records a variety of stories told in each place. This sort of documentary work heightens not just my awareness for what beauty there surrounds but it also deepens ownership in all those different places that I visit.Story telling is the essence of photography; over time I've understood that all found images are stories-in-waiting. I can be back at that moment when the shutter clicked--simply by reading through any part of my photo journal. A photograph of a local artist making pottery in a village speaks volumes about both the area's culture and it's long history. While another informal portrait, taken on the spot children playing in streets tells us that despite their youth they are full of innocence and happiness. I of my lens, Respected for their various backgrounds and stories into one piece interwoven experiences not only reflect the beauty of that place but also humanity at large. Every photograph is a chapter in my travel story and invites you to share the viewb through my eyes with me. Moreover, photography has taught me the importance of being in touch with the preseent. At a time when distractions are many fold—and seemingly never-ending—I get my answer from one act of taking picture. It forces me to walk slowly observe my surroundings more carefully and set my mind on what is happening around me so that those instantaneous moments we all experience every day crystallize into something concrete or at least past particulars. I have been schooled to be aware of the ordinary by my camera in such a way that despite a grimy scene before me at a street market even this too is beautiful in its own right. And practicing this awareness of everyday things not only improves my pictures but it enriches travel experiences for th me as well. What I've gathered from this process is that many a picture so dazzling it seems comes out of a spontaneous moment and that beauty can be found in the unplanned unexpected.As a travel photographer, as I look back upon my journey, one thing that keeps inspiring me continually is how many stories will develop before our very eyes.Every stop provides a new angle, and I try to reflect this in my work.My photo diaries constitute not just a group of images.
